What happened is that I am one woman, and I run several sites, and as is often the case, life intervenes with our plans. If you, or anyone you know, would like to submit an article relevant to DID for the site, I would welcome it.

Comment on Sybil was not a Fraud by Janine T. That is, the winds of opinion seem to be governed by a party line that is expected to be towed. The fact is many psychiatrists/psychologists have hostile attitudes toward patients making claim to suffering from it–and largely because they feel pressure from peers. We live in a world of “Me Too” and many are standing up and telling their story. The halls of medicine are unfortunately more often aligned with power and its sympathies toward the abusers who are in high places and are excused by society for their abuse because of their wealth and power. So the sufferer of Multiple personalities, PTSD, violence, or ruin is simply another typically woman hung out to dry…..people are speaking out? Get rid of the diagnoses get rid of the problem. Shirley was a saint BTW

I am a survivor of Mind-control via Mk-Ultra who is still struggling to have my full memories returned. It is always encouraging to see a whole healed survivor. Continue your contribution to others and many the higher power guide your path.

Comment on Art Show: DIDiva & The Mirror Looks by kathleen https://didiva.com/2011/01/art-show-didiva-the-mirror-looks/comment-page-1/#comment-91 Wed, 26 Jan 2011 17:15:42 +0000 https://didiva.com/?p=350#comment-91 Beautifully rendered! I am also a DID artist- working in the Boston area and have a show at Lesley Univeristy in Cambridge running now.
I find art to be the most powerful tool to help me survive/thrive through the complexities of living w/ DID. I work at a studio for disabled artist in Brookline MA called Gateway Arts. (gatewayarts.org) I am so glad to have found your site! a friend passed it along to me and I will do the same–pass it along.

Thanks for your sharing a part(s) of yourselves.

I watched it over the weekend. They did some aspects really well – the melding of the “then and now” into one reality in particular. They showed her as sometimes violent and unpredictable, which wasn’t so good.

Sorry, I’m not quite with it, so don’t remember all of it. But I remember thinking that I’ve seen worse. Hardly a brilliant recommendation, I know, but I honestly don’t remember much of it. So it was fairly inoffensive – although they did show her as violent, which wasn’t so good.

Regards,
CG

I thought it was going to appear like a joke. But the trailer looks like it treats DID well. With respect. And, as far as trailers go, with a good deal of accuracy. We’ll see…
